Today we completed the last leg of the trip to Silver City where Jenny is getting married. We drove out of Arizona through the Apache Sitgreaves National Forest. Breakfast at the hotel had been the usual minimal affair of toasted bagels and assorted sweet stuff which we abhor, so around 10:45am we started to get hungry. We reached the little town of Alpine only to discover that its one appealing eating place was (a) still serving breakfast and (b) advertising an NRA (National Rifleman Association) dinner. We voted with our tires and headed over the border to New Mexico where we found the little town of Luna and the Granary Restaurant, come post office, come general store. Not only did we have a great lunch (it being an hour later in New Mexico), but we also bought some wind chimes at an extremely good (non-Californian) price to replace the ones we lost in one of our moves.
