The Waiting Game

Power came back on at 7:45pm last night. The guy who connected our circuit breakers was really nice, and we decided not to be too grumpy about the fact that Pacific Gas and Electricity had lied to us once again. Sigh. If you don't know when you are going to restore power, you really shouldn't tell the public random times in order to make them go away. They just come back mad.

Today we went to the surgery for our final scan before Dena goes into labor. All is well and Maria our midwife pointed out that at 38 weeks anything can happen. The baby is now regarded as full term (not sure if this is a US only viewpoint).
She shot me a withering look: "Are you back now?"
"Er. Yes, I have stopped travelling until after the baby is born." I replied sheepishly.
"Good, we don't want to have to go and pick her up."
She appeared satisfied, that I was indeed going to be around for the birth.
So now we wait
