Departure

Time for us to leave and the band played on. Not because we were leaving but because today was the Highland Games on Bute where people from all over the Cowal come to compete. Not least of all the pipe bands who march off the ferry, up the town to the meadows where they take part in the games.
I recall watching them as a child marching back at the end of day one by one onto the ferry. My father bringing up the rear in his pipe band- the Boys Brigade.
