ESC one last time

This week was the Embedded Systems Show in San Jose. The first time I attended this show was to launch ARM’s first Software Development Toolkit in Santa Clara back 1995. Ah those were the days! It was a time of great hope for the future of the Embedded Industry and for ARM with it 32-bit processors and tools. Now our hopes have been realized in what has become the past and we are in a greater future where it has all happened.

For me this show felt like it was all over. It’s happened, it’s done, there is no more to be done. Last years people running last years demos could have replaced themselves with their YouTube avatars and be watched by people from their desktops thereby reducing airline induced pollution. Tradeshows are passé now.
