The Embedded Systems Show 2005
The Embedded Systems Show in San Francisco comes round once a year. It is reputed to be the biggest show of it's kind in the world. I have helped put the demos together and worked through some of the logistics for ARM’s Development Systems Division(DevSys) for as long as I can remember.
This year they put me in charge of the show for DevSys which was cool. By using various magic incantations I managed to get our presence at the show in terms of demos and training increased by a factor of 4X- which has meant a lot of hard work for everyone.
Zogger came to stay over. He is down from Seattle for a book signing at the show –( and lots of booth duty).
Faced with over 200 hours of demos and training that I had to schedule I wrote an OOP Python program to do it for me: various demo staff dislike certain demos (ie they can’t do them). The demos schedule the people that like them based on how many shifts the staff worked in the previous hours of the day.
