Anniversary Trip #1

On April 25th we will have been married for 7 years. Dena felt this number was significant and I tend to agree. It is a prime number for celebration.

This weekend Bob and Marty offered to take Alexander off to visit his cousins in Nevada. Needless to say we jumped at the chance of a weekend alone around our Anniversary and planned a road trip north on Highway 1. I like the coast just north of the Golden Gate- To me it looks a lot like the west coast of Scotland. However, on Highway 1 I had not ventured beyond Point Reyes. Back in 1993 Paul and I took a road trip to Oregan and back, heading up through the Nevada Deserts and then coming back down the coast on “The 1”. However, due to time constraints we had to cut our Highway 1 trip short and take the faster inland Highway 101. This was an opportunity for me to complete that trip.
Late Friday afternoon we packed our bags and headed off out of the Bay Area. As we headed up 85 the winds howled and tumble weed blew across the freeway. It did not bode well. As we crossed the Golden Gate it started to rain. It rained for the rest of the day.
