Going South
Our train journey to Bodmin Parkway station started out well. I spent some time having a lively converstation with a Canadian lady whose son was passing out in the Navy. Alexander ate crisps and watched videos quietly. I thouroughly enjoyed the route along the south coast remembering my ill fated trip to Teighnmouth many years ago with my Aunt, Uncle and cousins. The train passed by the coarse red sand beach where we had sat eating cold meat pies as the rain pelted down. And yes, it was still raining in Teighnmouth.
All was well with our journey, but by now you know me and trains...
When we got to Truro the rear power car of the train broke down and we were delayed for over an hour waiting for the next train to come in. Luckily the passengers took pity on us and got us seats near each other and we went on to Bodmin Parkway.
