Alexander Basketball 2009

It's amazing how the years go by. This is Alexander's 3rd year of basketball. This year I think it got a lot more exciting. Games are played on a half size court and they kids are allowed to grab ball from each other and do all kinds of realistic moves. Needless to say Alexander excels at this sport as he does at some many. It's a lot of fun for me to watch him.
In the video below, he scored the opening basket and proceeded to dominate the game right up until he crashed behind the curtain and got a nosebleed. He had to sit out for several minutes and Dad came to the rescue with an old remedy taught to me a Texan friend of mine: Fold up a strip of card (I normally use a ripped business card, but in this case it was the flap of a doughnut box) and insert it up and under the upper lip as high as it will go. It shuts down the blood flow and lets it clot.
5 minutes later he was back on court, scoring the final basket just before the horn!
