School Daze

Today was Alexander's first day at school. It is called Kindergarten in the US and is the first year of school that legally requires he be in attendance.

We were ready! We had gotten all the information on our local school. We had attended the half day overview with PowerPoint presentations and website overviews. We had filled out all the forms. Alexander was also combat capable: He knew the name of his school. He knew where it was. He knew he was going to learn gardening (c.f. garten)!

So we were a little surprised to discover that the State, in its wisdom, had put him in a completely school- Van Meter. Still his teacher Mr. Gerkin seemed most capable and he seemed to like it. So what you gonna do?
