Men O'Java
I got a call from Ed a few weeks back stating that we wanted to get back in the game. He's been spending the past few years as a flying instructor in Cambridge and hasn't touched a line of code during that time.
His re-appearance on the scene was indeed timely as ARM needs someone to work on Andrews project- Iced Tea the version of OpenJDK which is the open source version of Java.
I had a lot of meetings about this all through Monday with various folk, but predictably the meeting over a curry and a few beers proved the most productive!
Thanks to Sarah for the photos!
They are hosted on FlickR and I needed some way of putting them into this blog. There are probably hundreds of little gadgets to do this, but at the time I couldn't find one so I made my own using PopFly which is an impressive drag-and-drop tool for making mashups. It is written in SliverLight- Microsoft's competitor to Adobe Flash. I thought despite being written in SliverLight it would generate normal JavaScript that anyone could view. Foolish me! It generates SiliverLight code of course. So if you can't see the pictures it's because you haven't loaded the SilverLight plug-in and if you don't want to load the SiliverLight Plug-in because your company (like mine) won't allow you to click-through the license the you can click here to see them.
