I feel like I've been hit by a truck

Which is not surprising since I was!
On Tues afternoon I was in Austin with der uber boss. He'd driven up from Plano that morning and we were trying to find our way back to the office. To cut a long story short our little Toyota Corolla got hit by one of those big 4 wheel drive trucks that Texan's so love to drive. It has big crash bars on the front and the impact on the drivers side door shunted us some 20-30 feet down the sidewalk coming to a halt outside a car wash.

The lady driving the truck then mounted a guide wire that was holding up telegraph pole. As you can see she was somewhat bemused as to how to get her truck down. The tension on the guide wire cracked the telegraph pole which meant it could fall on the car we were in at any moment. Luckily it didn't.

It seemed like an interminable age before the law arrived. No one was charged and I set about getting our bits out of the car with a careful eye on the pole. De boss man whose side of the car had taken the brunt of the impact began to feel pain below his shoulders and so the paramedics got us and ambulance we went of to South Austin hospital. I'd never a ride in an ambulance before- it was very high tech with GPS which not only told you where you were and where to go, but also told the ambulance company how many miles had been travelled so that they could give you and accurate bill.

It turned out der boss man had broken his clavicle and bashed up his ear pretty badly in the impact so Austin's finest set about bandaging him up while I head over to the office and picked up our stuff and rented another car. I drove for the rest of the trip (rather carefully).
