You know you are getting old when...
Java One isn't just a conference, it's a clothing extravaganza. Well for me at least, it's when I buy tee shirts. This year was no exception and I made a beeline for the clothing store on the first day to ensure they had plenty of shirts in the size I wanted (well not so much wanted as needed- I don't actually want to be the size I am).
Looking at the samples hanging up I noted that the reason those particular shirts were on display rather than on the shelf was because they were defective- they had badly frayed collars and of course nobody would buy them. I chose 4 shirts in various shades of fade and headed out victorious.
It was only when I came to wear one today that I discovered that I wasn't hip anymore. The shirt I put on also had a frayed collar. In fact all the tee shirts I had purchased possessed frayed collars and frayed sleeves. It was wearing the height of fashion- pre-knackered tee shirts. Doh!
